Senior Vice President, Commercial

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Position Purpose

The Senior Vice President, Commercial will provide the leadership, strategic vision, and functional expertise to prepare Cortexyme for successful commercialization.  The SVP will be responsible for building and leading a best-in-class commercial organization in the achievement of long-range business objectives.  The SVP will develop the Company’s commercial capabilities, including strategic marketing, market access and reimbursement, and commercial analytics.  This role reports into the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop an integrated commercial plan that delivers value to patients, health care providers and payers, which incorporates pricing and reimbursement, communications and sales strategies 
  • Build and lead the commercial plan and launch readiness plan
  • Build a commercial team (corporate & field roles) that integrate with key Cortexyme functions to ensure optimal commercial planning and launch readiness
  • Develop a deep understanding of all stakeholders (patients & their families, physicians, payers) and promote interactions that foster the corporate and commercial goals
  • Integrate cross-functionally (R&D, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Investor Relations) to ensure consistent external communications
  • Manage the execution of global brand plans and design the market strategy
  • Develop key external relationships, including KOLs, investors and potential partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred, in scientific discipline or business equivalent
  • 16+ years commercial experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other related industry, including managing launch planning activities
  • Breadth of experience and knowledge within the Commercial organization including marketing, field, patient support, managed care
  • A solid understanding of regulatory requirements, market & payer dynamics is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
